Dates

FormulaReturns
=TODAY()Today's date (updates every day)
=NOW()Date and current time
=DAY(A2) / =MONTH(A2) / =YEAR(A2)Day, month or year number
=WEEKDAY(A2, 1)1 = Sunday … 7 = Saturday
=B2-A2Days between two dates
=DAYS360(A2, B2)Days on a 360-day accounting year
=MONTH(B2)-MONTH(A2)Month difference (same year)
=YEAR(B2)-YEAR(A2)Year difference

Tip: Excel stores a date as a number of days and the time as a fraction of a day. That is why =NOW()+1 is the same time tomorrow, and (Stop−Start)*24 gives hours.

WEEKDAY in planning: =IF(WEEKDAY(A2,1)=6, "Friday - off", "") flags weekly holidays in a production calendar.
