Dates
| Formula | Returns |
|---|---|
=TODAY() | Today's date (updates every day) |
=NOW() | Date and current time |
=DAY(A2) / =MONTH(A2) / =YEAR(A2) | Day, month or year number |
=WEEKDAY(A2, 1) | 1 = Sunday … 7 = Saturday |
=B2-A2 | Days between two dates |
=DAYS360(A2, B2) | Days on a 360-day accounting year |
=MONTH(B2)-MONTH(A2) | Month difference (same year) |
=YEAR(B2)-YEAR(A2) | Year difference |
Tip: Excel stores a date as a number of days and the time as a fraction of a day. That is why
=NOW()+1is the same time tomorrow, and(Stop−Start)*24gives hours.
WEEKDAY in planning: =IF(WEEKDAY(A2,1)=6, "Friday - off", "") flags weekly holidays in a production calendar.
